Grande Prairie Crane Training Courses - The heavy machinery crane is used to move, lift and lower heavy stuff. Typically, the crane comes equipped with a hoist, sheaves, and wire ropes or chains. Cranes are used in the construction, transport and manufacturing industries. These machines help with the movement of stuff, unloading and loading of freight, and heavy machine assembly.

There are many various kinds of cranes in operation, meant specially for particular applications. The Jib crane, the smallest crane, is meant to be used indoors. The tallest type is the Tower crane, used for building construction. Mini-cranes are used to access tight spaces. Floating cranes are utilized salvaging operations and oil rig construction on water.

Course content consists of codes regarding overhead cranes; machinery terms, attachments and hoists; proper inspection ways; basic maintenance requirements and procedures; correct sling use.
